Here is a page from an old turn of the century natural history text book. Today's theme is shoes, and so I choose *Wolverine made in USA workboots as my footwear of choice. Wolverine supports the Wolverine Foundation, a wildlife group.
* Not all Wolverine products are made in USA so check if you are boycotting China.

What a great website! I don't think I've ever actually seen a wolverine, and I'm eager to learn more. I just read that even though Michigan is the Wolverine State the animal itself may never have even been indigenous to the state. It's fascinating learning about the symbolism of the animal world. Thanks for bringing this one to my attention...
I forgot all about these boots. Many friends wore them back in the 70s.
Almost all my clothes and shoes are Made in India. (All the pretty cotton things.)

India makes such fine cloth-- I got some organic cotton bed linens made in India that are so soft !
