Growth

Our consciousness rarely registers the beginning of a growth within us any more than without us; there have been many circulations of the sap before we detect the smallest sign of the bud.
~ George Eliot

This is an area where we've been tossing birdseed every day or so for years. Mixed blends from those big 30 lb. bags. There's water and food for the songbirds in this small shady area, and many seeds sprout-- we always notice some type of annoying grassy weed that we have to uproot. Now this flower sprouted in the spot. A random seed, unknown. I don't know what kind of flower this is, but it seemed to just suddenly appear while I wasn't paying attention.

On a day like today, a post such as this makes my heart take courage by reminding me how sometimes things can appear gently and unexpectedly.

Hele-- I agree, I needed reminding myself. and the odd thing about this particular flower was that it seemed to glow.

Hi Bob Good to meet a new blogger. Thanks for calling into Rabaul.

My flight has been cancelled this morning and I don't get out until late this afternoon - sigh - the joys of air travel!!!! So it has enabled me to catch up with some visits.

PS Like all your photos - and quotes

So true. What amazes me is that so often we have turned towards the sun even in our moments of sorrow.
